Abstract
In modern era, the progress of packaging sector for food productsor drinks are specially packaged so that the product can last longerone of them used a can. Many drinks products at this timepackaged using cans, therefore drinks that are packaged usingcans can be contaminated with heavy metals from can components.Heavy metal contamination will be harmful to the body if entered in large amountsexceeds the threshold set by BPOM. This research was conductedto analyze Copper (Cu) in canned drinks consisting of beveragescarbonated and non-carbonated beverages. Copper (Cu) is needed in the bodywith a very small amount if it exceeds the threshold it will be very dangerousinside the body. This study aims to determine copper (Cu) in BeveragesCan. The method used is UV-Vis Spectrophotometry. Determination ofCu levels in canned beverage samples can be obtained from the concentration of Cu indrinks are 0.27 ppm – 3.3 ppm, respectively as follows for sample A3.3 ppm; sample B 2.3 ppm; sample C 0.27 ppm; sample D 1.33 ppm; sample E 0.27ppm. From the results of the following research, there are types of samples that exceed the NAV, namely:sample A 3.3 ppm and sample B 2.3 ppm. The threshold valueaccording to the Ministry of Health No.492/MENKES/PER/IV/2010, namely the content of copper (Cu)in drinking water that is not more than 2 ppm.
