Abstract

One of the herbs that is liked by many people is jamu rice kencur because it has the property of increasing appetite and is useful for curing various diseases. This research is a literature rivew, using a comprehensive data collection strategy. This study aims to determine the total plate count (ALT) of bacteria and the number of MPN (Most Probable Number) Coliform bacteria in kencur rice herbal medicine. The results showed that the number of bacteria using the Total Plate Number (ALT) method on day 0 was 2.2X103 colonies / ml, day 1 was 2.3X105 colonies / ml day 2 was 2.4 X 106 and day - 3 obtained TBUD results (Cannot be Calculated) (Fatmalia et al, 2019). The result of the average number of bacteria using the Total Plate Number (ALT) method was 4.7 × 105 CFU / ml (Nuria et al, 2008). While the number of bacteria using the MPN (Most Probable Number) method of Coliform bacteria, the results were the number of bacteria> 2400 MPN / ml in samples A, C, and D and in sample B amounted to 58 MPN / ml (Saputro, 2019). Results on samples A1 20 / ml, A2 0 / ml, A3 0 / ml, A4 240 / ml, and A5 10 / ml (Susanti & Aprilliyani, 2018). Both using the Total Plate Number (ALT) method and the MPN (Most Probable Number) method for Coliform Bacteria, the average number of bacteria that exceeds the normal limit is obtained (BPOM Number 12 of 2014 the total bacterial colony does not exceed 104 and SNI 7388: 2009 the maximum limit for Coliform is <3 MPN / ml).
